Ride for Refuge
At St Paul’s we are committed to working together to sponsor refugees coming to Canada. This past spring, St. Paul’s agreed to be the official sponsor for Andres, a 25-year-old displaced Venezuelan seeking resettlement in Canada, and we await the government’s decision to accept Andres as a refuge. Meanwhile, let’s keep up the good work!
On October 2 we will be participating in the Ride for Refuge to raise support for AURA (Anglican United Refugee Alliance) with whom we are partnering in refugee resettlement. We invite you to join in with us on Oct 2 by walking, riding, fundraising, or donating to this important cause. Together, let’s show Jesus’ love to our neighbours in need.
We will participate as the St Paul Bloor St Auracles team, and the goal is to raise $5000. We encourage you to come meet us, but you are welcome to participate however and wherever you wish! Here are some ways to get involved with Ride for Refuge:
1.Sign up to participate and fundraise! (Not into cycling or walking? Don’t worry: there are lots of different options for how to participate)
2.Donate to an individual or the St Paul’s Team
3.Encourage your friends to join in!
St Paul’s will be present in High Park on Saturday, Oct 2 from 10am – 12pm at the Bloor St Entrance on the north end of the park. The park is closed to vehicle traffic on weekends but there is free street parking available. Remember to bring your own snacks and refreshments!
If you are interested in getting involved in future refugee sponsorship efforts at St Paul’s, contact Patricia (email@example.com).
