Rector’s Update

After faithfully serving St. Paul’s Bloor Street for more than 22 years, The Rev. Canon Dr. Barry Parker has announced his retirement. He will be stepping down as only the 10th Rector of St. Paul’s Bloor Street in 178 years. Barry’s last Sunday as Rector will be September 13, 2020.
With acceptance from the Diocese of Toronto’s Bishop Andrew Asbil – the approved diocesan mandated process of selecting the next Rector of St. Paul’s has formally commenced. There will be opportunities for parishioners to express their thoughts through a survey and also at parish information sessions after each service on March 29. During these sessions, the Wardens will explain how the search for the 11th Rector is being conducted.
We thank God for the many blessings of Barry’s ministry at St. Paul’s. We will continue to put our trust in the Lord, who knows the plans for his kingdom-building ministry. This ministry is not built on one person but the amazing power of our Lord Jesus Christ. We will always put our hope, faith and trust in Him to lead us further. Details around the opportunity to share appreciation and gather to wish Barry and Cathy well will be shared in the coming months – stay tuned.
