This year, we invite you to join us for a time of reflection, preparation, and self-examination during Lent.
Lent is the 40-day period before Easter. The 40 days commemorates the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the desert and endured temptation before starting his ministry. During this 40 day period, we spiritually prepare for the great celebration of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection at Easter.
Here are some ways you can get involved and become spiritually prepared during Lent:
Ash Wednesday Service
This service, held on the first day of Lent, helps us focus on the realities of our own mortality, our sinful human state, and our need for Jesus for forgiveness and eternal life. Join us on February 7 at 7 pm for our Ash Wednesday service on YouTube.
Lent Experience Devotional & Journal
What happens when you take 2,000 years of a Christian tradition, capture the heart of it, and reimagine it? Whether you’re a veteran of observing Lent or a rookie who is jumping in for the first time, you can join thousands of people for an experience that just may surprise you.
It’s simple. You watch a short video on Ash Wednesday that kicks the whole thing off. Then, each Sunday until Easter you will watch a short video that will give you your Lent Experience challenge for the week. The challenges are based on things that have been a part of Lent for centuries. Watch The Lent Experience On RightNow Media | Watch The Lent Experience On YouTube
Lent Prayer Room – February 24 to March 31
Join us in our Lenten Prayer Room on Zoom every Wednesday evening from 7:30 – 8:30 pm (following Compline).
During the 5 weeks of Lent, we’ll be focusing on a spiritual practice each week to help you grow closer to God. This list of spiritual practices isn’t exhaustive, but are intended to complement The Lent Experience we’re doing as a community. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for daily updates!
