The season of Advent encompasses the four weeks leading up to Christmas. Advent means “arrival,” and during this season, we look for the arrival of God on earth, God-with-us, in the birth of Jesus Christ.

See what we have to offer this Advent season at St. Paul’s!

Advent Devotional

Whether you are brand new to prayer or have been on this journey for years, we are excited to join as a St. Paul’s community in prayer during Advent. Even if you are nervous about whether you can do this for the whole season, give it a shot!

This published devotional can guide you through daily prayers and scripture readings throughout this season. Download this resource below, or pick up a printed copy starting November 19!

Included in this guide are devotionals for families. Sit down with the kids and spend time in weekly prayer and scripture. You can also pick up family resources in the Children’s Ministry area and Advent Kits in the Atrium starting November 26.

Giving

Advent Ask
Each year during Advent, we ask the St.Paul’s community to embrace compassion over consumption and give generously to support a particular cause, locally or globally. This year, our Advent Ask is in support of the Diocese of Biharamulo in Tanzania and the repair of the Al Ahli Hospital, a Christian hospital in Gaza run by the Anglican Church.

Learn more on our Advent Ask page.

Reverse Advent Bags
St. Paul’s is happy to partner with All Saints Toronto for our Reverse Advent Bags this year. We will collect supplies for their outreach program, which supports those in need around Toronto. Pick up your bag and list starting November 19.

Items we are collecting this year include:

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Chapstick
  • Wet wipes
  • Wool or thermal socks
  • Warm gloves, scarf, hat
  • Hand warmers
  • Notebook and pen
  • Padlock or combination lock
  • USB charger adapter

Tribute Flowers
A great way to honour a loved one is with a gift of Tribute Flowers, which will be used to decorate our church for the Christmas season.

Donations of $20 per name are being collected until December 17 and can be made in person by Tribute Flower donation envelopes, by e-Trasnfer, or through our online giving page. Click below for instructions on our ways to give.
Names of the tributes will be displayed on slides before and after services on December 24, 25, and 31. These slides will be shown during in-person and livestreamed services. Names will also be available on our website after the cut-off on December 17.
