Small Groups

Small groups are a great place to meet others and learn to follow Jesus among friends. Groups are led by trained members of the church and have between six and fifteen members. They meet in various locations, at different times. Each of our small groups is ordered around the Four W’s.

Welcome

Time is set aside at each meeting to develop relationships within the group. This often happens over a cup of coffee, a meal or  a social event out as a group.

“We were welcomed into our group immediately.”

Word

Christians believe that God communicates to people through the Bible. Each week the group will work through passages from scripture to hear what God has to say and apply it to our lives. Understanding the Bible is not a prerequisite for attending. You are welcome regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey.

“Small group allows you to delve deeper into scripture in a safe
environment that allows you to ask questions and not worry about how
your questions are perceived.”

“The Bible Study is well planned and prepared by the leaders.”

Worship

At each meeting we recognize that we have all come from a week of different experiences, joys, struggles, and sorrows. Time is given each week to bring those things to God in prayer. It is not necessary to share or pray, but the opportunity is open to everyone.

“Small Group has been part of my growing in many ways – personally, spiritually, emotionally. I have a group of people who know me and hold me accountable. The prayer support has been such a blessing.”

Witness

Each year groups are encouraged to put legs on their faith and serve their community in practical ways to reveal the love of God to others. For some groups this means participation in a Habitat for Humanity build, or partnering with one of the many outreach ministries at St. Paul’s, or supporting a World Vision endeavor together.

“Small group experience has been one of the most important parts

of my 25 years of worship at St. Paul's.”

“I don’t want to miss a small group – I look forward to it each week.”
