September 17 Road Closures

Parts of Bloor Street and Yonge Street will be closed on
September 17 for Open Streets TO.

Posted on September 12, 2017

Due to Open Streets TO parts of Bloor Street and Yonge Street will be closed to vehicle traffic on Sunday, September from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. St. Paul's is within the affected area.

This is an opportunity to welcome those attending Open Streets TO into our community at St. Paul's. We encourage you to attend and welcome someone new.

Bloor Street will be closed from Christie Street to Sherbourne Street. Yonge Street will be closed from Bloor Street to Queen Street. These streets will be "soft closed", meaning vehicles will still be able to cross the route at major intersections. Please view the map below for a detailed look at these intersections.

Parking at Manulife will remain open and accessible.

For more information see the Open Streets TO Event Notice here.

Accessing Parking

Normally, traffic moving south on Mount Pleasant Road will encounter a right turn lane that will allow them to turn right to proceed northbound onto Ted Roger's Way. During Open Streets TO this right turn lane will be blocked. Instead, continue slightly ahead to the intersection of Jarvis Street and Mount Pleasant Road/Charles Street. You can also access this intersection by travelling north on Jarvis Street. An on duty police officer will be stationed at the intersection of Jarvis Street and Mouth Pleasant Road/Charles Street. Inform the police officer you are attending St. Paul's and you will be permitted to enter.

Those With Mobility Issues

Vehicles will be unable to access the front of the church or our accessible parking on the east side of the church. We encourage you to make use of the parking at Manulife.

St. Paul's is working with Open Streets TO to ensure those who require assistance will be accomodated before and after all three Sunday services. Volunteers will be located at the corner of Ted Rogers Way and Bloor Street to escort those who need to be dropped off close to the church. The volunteers will have wheelchairs for those requiring further assistance.

Public Transit

The TTC Blueline Bus that runs along Bloor Street will be diverted to Carleton/College at Parliament and Spadina. The TTC Blueline Bus on Yonge Street will divert west on Davenport to Bay Street.
