New Honourary Assistant


Join us in welcoming our new Honourary Assistant, Steve Shaw.

This week, the Diocese of Toronto appointed Steve Shaw as Honourary Assistant to St. Paul’s Bloor Street beginning January 1, 2013. Steve and his wife Christine (aka Chris) have many friends at St. Paul’s as he served as Associate Priest here from 1986 to 1989.

Steve has had a parallel career as a priest and as a professional engineer. He retired from his professional work as a Senior Executive with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) four years ago and since then has been Priest-in-Charge of St. George-on-Yonge, leading the building of their new church.

Other churches he has served in include St. Matthew’s Riverdale, Little Trinity, Christchurch Brampton, and St. Brides Clarkson.

Before his time with the GTAA, Steve worked for the City of Toronto, the former Metro Toronto and with transportation consulting firms.

He holds degrees in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning and Divinity. He grew up in New Zealand and is married to Chris who is from Barbados. They have four children and four grandchildren.
