Our Leadership

Nancy TruscottNancy Truscott

"Take two aspirins and call me in the morning" is not the advice of a parish nurse. "Let us pray together as we navigate through the health care system" is.

Prayer is always important for our soul but an extra dose is needed when our health is under attack.

Prayer, fellowship and real support are the nurse’s orders.

Spiritual care support has dimmed in our health care institutions. Well, let’s brighten health care in our churches. As a young visitor remarked: "I didn’t know nurses have churches!"

Nancy brings to Health Ministry experience in public health, home care/CCAC; psychiatric nursing, prenatal classes, having received her B.Sc.N. at University of Toronto. She attended the Parish Nurse Institute at Divinity College at McMaster University in May 2004.

Nancy’s favourite Bible verse:
Ephesians 4:32
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
