Marriage Preparation

At St. Paul’s we run the Alpha Marriage Preparation Course hosted over DVD by Nick and Sila Lee. They are co-authors of The Marriage Book.

The evenings are designed for any engaged couple. While based on Christian principles, the course is relevant and helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith or church background. Topics covered include: communication, commitment, resolving conflict, keeping love alive and shared values.

Each evening begins with supper. There is then a talk, followed by an opportunity for each couple to discuss issues raised. There is no group work. Each couple has the chance to discuss these issues with the course leader if they wish.

The cost of the course is included in the wedding fee at St. Paul’s. If you are being married elsewhere, but wish to take The Marriage Preparation Course through St. Paul's, the cost of the course is $185 per couple.

The Alpha Marriage Preparation Course takes place over five Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:30 pm at St. Paul's.

The Marriage Course

The Marriage Course offers couples the tools to build a strong, healthy and dynamic marriage that can adjust with the challenges of the years. Over seven evenings, couples talk about important issues that can get swept under the carpet in the rush of daily life.

Each week the course includes dinner, a DVD presentation, couple discussion time and homework. Privacy as a couple is always respected. There is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else.
