Confirmation

Many churches, including St. Paul’s, will help parents who can publicly proclaim and accept God’s promises on behalf of their young children through baptism. Confirmation is a public service of worship where a baptized person makes those early promises on their own. During the service, a Bishop celebrates with us this growing belief in and commitment to God.

Youth Confirmation

At St. Paul’s we prepare youth for this step of faith through confirmation classes. In these classes youth learn the basics of the Christian faith and what it means to be a follower of Jesus for life.

Our classes run bi-annually. Youth in grades six to twelve are welcome to join us and will want to attend youth group on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am or 11 am.

Adult Confirmation, Reception & Renewal of Baptismal Vows

As an adult, you may not remember being baptized because you were a small child or you may have recently come to a fuller understanding of what it means to follow Jesus. If so, then an important step in your spiritual journey may be confirmation, when you may make those promises your own, if you have not been confirmed before.

We usually have a service of confirmation once a year at St. Paul’s and a Bishop comes to celebrate this service with us. Taking the Christianity 101and Following Jesus courses will be important steps in this journey.

If you have been confirmed before, but wish to publicly mark a new step in your faith journey with the St. Paul's community as your spiritual home, you may want to consider renewing your baptismal vows or being received into the Anglican communion from another denomination.

If you are interested in taking any adult step of faith then please connect with Jenny Andison.
