A project of this magnitude requires the help of many people, in many ways: Nigerians and non-Nigerians, people of ALL faiths, and anyone who has an interest in striking at the heart of poverty and violence. Here are some ways to help:
TIME
- The Nigeria Working Group of St.Paul's always welcomes new members ! Our activities range from resource gathering and allocation to planning to communications, and missions. Our object is to build a relationship with the remarkable people of Kaduna and those who will be affected by the Jacaranda Project. Raising money is only part of our mandate.
- Do you have a heart for this type of project, but on your own terms ? We would like to build a network of organizations with the same objectives. Keep us up to date on your activities, so we can support each other.
- Contact Tim Davies, Chair of the Nigeria Working Group at: kaduna@stpaulsbloor.org, or 416-842-3816
TALENT
- Are you willing to share your particular skills ? Do you have skills that could benefit the support effort here or in Nigeria ? Do you have an out-of-the-box idea that might just work ?
- Are you a professional with a heart to use your skills to benefit those who might not have access to people like you ?
- If you feel called to apply your talents in a charitable way, consider the Jacaranda Project a worthy challenge !

TREASURE
- This project is only partly about money. The foundation of this effort is a group of people who have heard a call for help and are responding.
- Consider the leverage each dollar makes in a country with annual GDP of less than $1,000 per person. The massive amount of good that can be accomplished with amounts that we in the developed world consider minor is irresistible.
- Consider a donation as befits your situation
- All donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt if name and address is provided
- Donations over $500 will be recognized with special honour
- For Canadian tax purposes (approximately):
- A donation under $200 receives a tax credit of 22%, meaning a $200 donation will only cost you $156
- A donation over $200 receives an additional tax credit of 40% on amounts above $200, meaning a $1,000 donation will only cost you $1,000
- [$156 + ($800 x 40%)] = $1,000
- [$156 + $321] = $634
