Unlimited Access

We live in a consumerist society, and when shopping for a product or service we are drawn by the concept of the ‘unlimited’. Unlimited warranties, unlimited refills, unlimited data/minutes – unlimited access. It is true we as a culture have run rampant with our seemingly insatiable desire for more. But could it be what we truly yearn for can only be satisfied in an Unlimited God?

After Jesus’s death and resurrection, he promised the Holy Spirit, the endless, life-giving Spirit of God would abundantly pour down upon his people, and when it did, the Church was born. No longer were people identified by social class, race, or gender, but by being spiritual family. This new community of Jesus followers became united in relationship by the one Spirit who provided unlimited access to true peace, satisfying life purpose, and a grounded future hope.

When we subscribe to a service that provides ‘unlimited access’, we tend to accept there are limits to the terms of service, often found in the fine print. But with the Holy Spirit, not only does God honour his unlimited commitment to us, but provides spiritual resources we didn’t know existed. Through following Jesus we find we are transformed in unexpected and encouraging ways.

We will discover over the next six weeks, the always fresh and unlimited access to the unlimited God, who not only makes available his transformative power, but brings power directly into our lives as we learn to follow the person and character of Jesus as a community.

The Fine Print

The Bible is by all accounts the single most impactful book in history but to many of us these same words can seem like, well, fine print… inaccessible and daunting. In today’s world, how do we make the connection between our real lives and the majestic and searching words of Scripture?

We have been engaging the fine print of God together over the last few months. We are exploring an enduring story of God’s faithfulness and love beginning at creation and culminating in his triumphant victory over evil and death through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you can be enriched and transformed by the faithfulness and love of God found in His Word in the power of the Holy Spirit. Utilizing our Sunday sermons, and an accessible reading plan of key passages for individuals and small groups, we are exploring the Bible and discovering the important part each of us has to play together in community.
