The Bridge Service: Pilot Project

Posted on April 30, 2019

This past February, the congregation and leadership of the 9:30 am Bridge service spent a month praying and listening to God, seeking where the Spirit is leading us next.  There were many good outcomes from that month.  For example, we felt that God was calling us to find ways to energize and innovate with our Sunday morning worship, while staying true to the core of our Anglican identity.

As a way of responding to this feeling, we are undertaking a pilot project during the month of June at the 9:30 am service.  For four Sundays (June 9, 16, 23, & 30) we are renting two large screens and projectors which we hope will enhance our participation and engagement in Sunday worship.  Since the equipment is being rented, there is no commitment to buy it.  And since this is a pilot project, we are very interested in hearing your feedback afterwards.

However, in order to make this project a success we will need some new volunteers to form a Production Team.  These volunteers of all ages will be needed to assist with setup and teardown of the equipment, as well as the technical aspects of running the media software.  If you love being hands-on, working behind the scenes to enhance the worship experience, or using technology to help create an environment where people of all generations can encounter God – join the team! No experience is necessary, and training will be provided.

If you would like to serve on this new team, please contact Robert Hurkmans.
