What We Believe

We believe the good news of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection is relevant to all people and has the power to transform our lives, our city, and our world.

We believe we were made to love God and to express that love together through loving others in word and deed.

At St. Paul's we live this faith out informed by our Anglican roots, connecting this good news of Jesus with our contemporary world.

Our Anglican Roots

St. Paul's Bloor Street, along with Anglican Christians around the world, affirm our belief in historic Christianity as revealed in the Bible and summarized in statements called creeds: The Apostle’s, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds. These creeds along with the 39 Articles of Religion and the Solemn Declaration from the Anglican Book of Common Prayer express the central beliefs of the worldwide Anglican Communion. At St. Paul’s we also strive to live into our Discipleship Covenant.

As summaries these creeds often contain concepts, and language which are no longer in common use. Should you have questions or wish to further explore what we believe, we would encourage you to contact Tim Haughton.
